Declawing is the procedure to remove the claws of an animal by medically removing the last bone of it's finger. Through the removal of the claw muscles and nerves are damaged so the cat cannot physically use it's claws (not actual paw).
Why do people declaw their cats ?
There are many reasons why different people declaw their cats, it is said that 25% of cats are declawed. Most people declaw their cats either because they are unaware how major the surgery is, or that they cannot find alternatives so they do not have to go through with cat declawing. However in my experience most people declaw their cats to ensure child safety around the house, or during play.
Can a declawed cat change it's personality and hate me ?

Is laser declawing or tendonectomy (tenectomy) easier on the cat while declawing ?
Laser declawing is used simply for the cat's bleeding. The pain is obviously still there (the bone is still removed) however the bleeding is reduced.
Tenectomy is a medical procedure where the tendons (in toes) are damaged. The basic point of it is for the cat to still have it's claws, however unable to move or use them. Most people do not know in rare cases of tenectomy some cats undergo irregular claw growth.
Why do cats even scratch ?
The purpose of the actual scratching is to remove old, worn fragments of nails.
